Microsoft is weighing its options with a Germany only facility as there seems to be a data centre boom going on in the country of Lufthansa and Mercedes.
European countries are buckling down on their data laws and are applying rules that will mean that users’ data will need to be in the country, or at least close to the country of the users themselves. This perception is growing in popularity among lawmakers and users alike, and so it means that American cloud computing companies are going to have to make a move now or risk losing out in the European market to their American rivals. Germany has the strongest data sovereignty laws among all the European Union countries and so Microsoft may place and all German-data center in Germany very soon. >>read articleTony Monthana
